About the client

The training centre of Uzbekistan’s Association of Customs Brokers is a separate company, founded in 2018. Under licence it trains and retrains customs clearance specialists, and it runs short trainings for brokers and for companies that trade across the border. Its site is tcatb.uz.

Challenge

Let the centre’s staff run every section of their site without a developer, move its surveys and tests to a new engine without losing past results, and keep the site in step with the association’s in two languages.

Solution

  • Every section of tcatb.uz edited from the shared admin panel, without a developer
  • Courses, events and teachers as structured records with their own fields
  • One news module that publishes to the centre’s site, the association’s site or both
  • A new engine for surveys and tests on its own subdomain, with existing tests and results carried over
  • A separate tests administrator role that sees nothing else
  • Uzbek and Russian, with the chosen language carried between the two sites
  • Technical SEO and structured data for courses, events and teachers, with the design unchanged
  • Consent on every form, analytics on all three addresses, hosting in Uzbekistan

The site stays, the way it is run changes

tcatb.uz keeps its design and its Python and Django code. The work happens behind it: the site gains the interfaces the shared admin panel needs, and its public templates change only where search engines and the language versions require it.

Nine sections, edited by staff

The home page, the page about the centre, courses, trainings and events, services, news, documents, teachers and contacts are all created, changed, published and unpublished from the panel. A content manager for the centre has access to the centre’s material and to nothing else.

Courses, events and teachers as records

A course carries its name, description, programme, length, format, date, teacher, image, documents and contacts, with a price and an application form where they apply. An event has its date, place, programme, materials and registration details. A teacher has a photograph, position, specialisation, experience and the courses they teach. Each page is built from the same fields every time.

News for one site or both

The centre and the association share one news module. When publishing, the editor chooses where an item appears: the association’s site, the centre’s site, or both.

Tests on a new engine

Surveys and tests move to a new engine on their own subdomain, reached from the centre’s menu and closed to search engines. Existing surveys, tests and results are carried over. Staff build tests in an editor, with questions, answer options and settings. Results export to Excel and CSV in two forms: per participant, with answers and scores, and per test, with the spread of answers by question. A tests administrator works only here.

Two languages, one visit

The site runs in Uzbek and Russian and opens in Uzbek. Switching language keeps the visitor on the same page, and the choice carries over when they follow a link between the centre’s site and the association’s.

Readable by search engines and AI assistants

Titles, descriptions and social previews are set from the panel. The site gets readable addresses, a sitemap, canonical and language links, and structured data for the organisation, its courses, events and teachers, all without changing how it looks.

Where it stands

In development, as part of the association’s platform. The centre keeps its site’s design and its Django code; what changes is who can edit it and what the tests run on. Screenshots of the finished work and results will be added after launch.
